The Forgotten Diaries: October Favorites
Share
Happy October!
Here, I'd like to begin a series of monthly posts featuring some of my favorite things of the month: fashion inspiration, muses, products, thrift finds, thrift wish lists, books, music, media, and whatever else strikes my fancy.
It's October again, the true peak of fall, and there's something about this month that really gets my creativity flowing. It's also the season of all the best fashion. Velvets, jewel tones, brown everything, leather, suede, knee-high boots, skirts, flowy layers, sweaters, lace. I love it all. It's the witchiest time of the year.
It's also the start of market season for me. As someone who lives in Florida and battles an autoimmune disease, I prefer the cooler months for popping up my booth.
Growing up in Maine, fall has always been my favorite season. It feels like home: the changing colors, the crispness in the air, and, of course, Halloween. When I moved to Florida back in 2010, the lack of seasons, and fall especially, definitely took some getting used to. It still makes me a little homesick.
Because of that, I have to make the most of the season myself and put in the effort to cultivate that fall feeling I'm always missing.
These are some of the things that get me into the fall spirit, from fashion to food to the things I've simply been enjoying lately. I hope you enjoy them, too.

I'm hoping to spend this month soaking up as much autumn as possible, even if that means manufacturing a little fall magic of my own here in Florida. Since the weather is pretty much the same all year round fall is a nice reminder to try and slow down and savor the moment. I'm excited to get fully into market season, spend some time thrifting and doing as many spooky season activities as I can squeeze in.
Until next time, I'll be over here pretending it's forty degrees outside and dreaming of New England.
