Behind the Ivy

Meet the Girl Behind the Ivy

I've always loved playing dress-up.

Give me beautiful fabrics, lace, velvet, ribbons, and something a little unusual, and I'm happy. Clothing has always been one of my favorite ways to express myself, experiment with who I am, and turn an ordinary day into something a little more interesting.

I grew up thrifting. When money was tight, secondhand shopping was a way to find the things we needed, but over time, I came to see it as something more. There were beautiful, unexpected treasures waiting to be discovered, pieces with the quality, character, and details you'd find in much more expensive clothing. I fell in love with the idea that luxury didn't have to mean luxury prices, and that style should be accessible to everyone.

Some of my favorite memories are tied to shopping with my mom. She passed away from cancer when I was twenty, and finding and looking at clothes together is one of the things I still hold close. Thrifting has become one of the ways I feel connected to her.

Fashion has also been part of my working life for years. I've spent much 15 years in retail, especially on the inventory side, and I've been reselling my own clothes and thrifted finds online for around a decade. Somewhere along the way, the idea of having a brand of my own became something I couldn't quite let go of.

In 2020, I took an earlier shot at building a brand with Celestial Harpy. It didn't work out, but it taught me something important: I was far more passionate about hunting for treasures in thrift stores than sourcing new pieces from wholesalers. I loved the search, the unexpected finds, and the possibility of discovering something someone else might overlook.

The more time I've spent around clothing, the more aware I've become of the amount of textile waste our fashion industry creates. So much clothing is discarded, forgotten, or treated as disposable, even when it still has so much life left in it.

Forgotten Ivy is my way of being part of that cycle. By sourcing pre-loved clothing and finding it new homes, I hope to make fashion feel a little more thoughtful, a little more accessible, and a lot more personal.

Eventually, the pieces started falling into place. My love of vintage, my experience in retail and reselling, my eye for the unusual, and my desire to build something of my own all led me here.

And so, Forgotten Ivy Vintage began to take shape.

It's for anyone who has ever fallen in love with something secondhand, found a piece that felt like it was waiting just for them, or used getting dressed as a way to become a little more themselves.

I want to make the thrill of finding something special accessible to more people, one treasure at a time.
